An Overview of Artist Services

Every artist has their own technique, or style. It's like a signature. Most everyone knows a Van Gogh painting, or even a painting by "the master of light" Thomas Kinkade just by looking at one of his pieces. I am sometimes asked if I can replicate the work from another artist. My answer is, "I'll do the best I can and come as close as possible to what it is you desire." But when I have the freedom to create something for you that flows out of me, the results seem to have more of a unique touch. I am a talented, self-taught artist; the mural business found me. Over the past 12 years I have learned the business from experience, and as humble as I am about my work I continue to challenge myself and improve the quality of my work.

My Specialties

I specialize in Faux Art Painting: Marbelizing, Graining, Color Wash, Trompe l'oeil, Rag Painting, and Venetian Plaster; Human and Pet Portraits; Face Painting; Caricatures; Signs; and Custom Painted Art pieces. But, if you were to ask me what it is I like to paint the most, it's animals. It’s something about capturing the animal’s spirit in a painting that I truly enjoy and strive for. I have often had people ask me to paint their beloved pet who has passed away. They give me a photo and I look into the eyes of their pet. It’s hard to explain, but I feel as if the animal’s energy surrounds me and when I paint that energy is released into my paint brush and formed into the animal it once was on the canvas. Every time I give the finished painting to the owner, their eyes are immediately flooded with tears. That’s how I know I did my job. That’s what I strive for every time.

What to Expect

If you were to come to me for art work I will usually ask these things: what medium would you want? What size would you want? Where do you intend to display the artwork? Who is the artwork for? Do you have a picture of what you would like for me to use to refer to? These are all questions I need to know in order to create an estimate and for me to make sure I protect the project properly. Other factors I think about when creating creating artwork and quotes for clients is surface texture and environment. If you want a detailed painting on your wall, the surface of your wall is going to have an effect on the amount of time it will take me to complete a detailed painting. For example: if you have textured walls, the little bumps in the wall texture is going to require me to take more time to obtain good coverage while I'm panting, versus a wall that has no or very little texture. Or, if you want a painting that is going to be kept outside, I'll need to make sure to put a UV protectant coat on the painting to protect it from sun damage.

In most cases, I can use any of medium of your choice, whether it's watercolor, acrylic or oil paints, colored pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, pencil or ink. You name it. I am always conscious of a client's budget and take a thorough assessment of the project before we begin, providing as accurate a quote as possible with the conditions provided. I maintain myself in a professional manner and always treat your property with respect. I carry a positive and up beat attitude, and most people find me delightful to work with. I'll always do my best to work with you until you are satisfied with the results.
